Mike,
Is it possible to copy these effects into the plugin folder from CS2? It is really non-sense for Adobe to get rid of them. Yes, I understand even in 2.0, they don’t work very well, but at least there are some get around. Now CS3, there is none. Why not try to make it work, but get rid of them and dump down Premiere (Should Premier no longer be called premiere but ‘Average’ instead? I am becoming less and less enthusiatic about this product. Vegas seems have more bells and wisels and cheaper. Yes, the interface needs get used to, but HDV, 24p, Plugins… much more flexibility. The only advantage staying with Adobe is for the suite, nothing more.)Perry

All the above recommendations are good, I am sure, and some might be ‘dirt-cheap’, and yes, AE is great, of course. Here are my $.02:
1. If you think Boris Fx & Grafritti is hard, I don’t know if AE is any easier. (erhaps the text animation is not too bad.)
2. Use Flash software, if you know how to make a flash swf file, then import it into premiere either via a plugin or via converting it to tga sequence. See all the web text animation… your windows of possibility and creativity is endless.

Yes, I experienced the same problem with updating to 3.10. I was told to be patience and Adobe will have some bug fix for their fixes? Or have something avaiable to download on their web site in a few days.

There should be an export to tape option. However, this is only if your camcorder is recognized by the system and CS2. Are you able to capture? If so, you should be able to record back. If not, trouble shoot what the problem might be.

Mike, 🙂 I love your response.

What are you trying to accomplish? For capturing the footage to Ext. HDD? You know a HDD itself does not know anything about recording or copying, some intermediate mechanism is needed.

I have been having problems also with updates. I saw the updates and download it, then, after the download, it says something like “unable to locate files” and then it went away. Now when I have the program runs, it never asks me for an updates anymore and it still says 3.01 Not 3.10. Also, Bridge’s Start Meeting update never got installed either. I have reinstalled the entire program (CS3) but no help.

Just want to clarify, Joe, you want to create a SD presets, import the HD footage into it and the HDV will be imported as bigger than the SD presets and thus you can cut off some pixels that can create interesting things. Then, export that to DVD.

Could it be the storm card’s issues? (Usually not in this manner, but…) Like I said, plugins, and possible hardware cards may be the culprit. Well, I run out of ideas.
Best wish,
