Mike,
First of all, as always, thanks. The solution to #2 works like a charm. However, Deinterlace for problem #1 did not work. The speed is medium, I would not call it fast. I moves from Right upper corner to left lower corner in a half circle manner in ~ 6s. Yes, this happens only on the bright areas. If I stop the motion and in the preview windows, it looks fine. As soon as it moves, the bright areas, behind the trees, sparkles!!Perry

Here is a picture (not good since there is no motion).

So, is there a way to encode from previews? Import all the previews files and then butt them together? Or? I think for most people, that will be much faster… for a quick project.

May 29, 2005 at 9:36 pm in reply to: Problem in Capturing and Quality issues.. Plz. help….2. When I connect the camcorder to USB Stream and launch Premiere Pro 1.5 and the Capture (F5), there is no live buttons for me to capture the video. I am putting it simply, but rest assured, I have tried all possible methods to capture video. I am unable to start capture. Is there anything that I should firewire connection instead of USB ?
Mostly, USB connection is for capturing still images… you need to firewire connect for DV Capture.
4. Secondly, after downloading the movie, the clips appear very dull lit, meaning, if I connect the camcorder directly on to TV, the display is excellent. I do not know why there is loss of quality.
Yes, if the source is poor, even it may be viewed in the LCD mon as ok, because you turned up the brightness, the actual digital signal is still poor. Having that said, the only way to know for sure is to view the captured clip on external monitor, instead of your computer monitor. That means, you have to invest on heavy duty equipments or learn from you experience after trials and errors.

Mike,
First of all, thanks for your help.“Keyframes are added automatically with any value change (with Toggle Animation turned on). I dont think there is a short cut to add a “same value” keyframe without using the Add Keyframe button.”
What I wanted to build a shortcut key in which when I have my timeline over a certain point, I don’t want to have to move my mouse to click on Add/Remove keyframe dot. I would like to be able to just hit a key on my Contour Device to add a keyframe right there on the time line. I think this will be faster for me.
“Maybe dont understand your question about joining clips….just butt them together?”
When I have a Clip1 on timeline, and want to drag another Clip (Clip2) adjacent to it, I have to move very carefully not to overlay on any portion of Clip1, otherwise Clip1 will be splitted into 2 clips (i.e. Clip1a-Clip2-Clip1b) In 6.5, I don’t have to worry about this, I can simply place Clip2 near the end of Clip1 and it will be placed butt-to-butt.
Thanks again Mike.
Sincerely,

I forgot to mention:
Just got Pro 1.5 and it seemed not as threatening as I imagined. It actually had a lot common with 6.5, with a few changes I need to get used to. For one, I don’t know if this can be customized… if I move a clip to another clip, it shorten the previous clip, overlaying… What if I just want it to joint previous clip? Also, is there a keyboard shortcut for Adding a keyframe without pushing the Add keyframe icon? (I got a contour device)Thanks again all for you input in the past few weeks.
Sincerely,
Perry

April 10, 2005 at 12:22 am in reply to: Best way to go from DV to Clips on DVD used for editingYou don’t want to do that, DV quality is superior than DVD and DVD is not made for editing. If you are keeping them for later edit, why not just keep your miniDV tapes?
