    Pat,
All I can think of is the disk spaces left are somewhat limited (all 3 drives are relatively small). Well, with 14G for the preview drive and conform audio, it may be enough? Try to seperate the conform audio files from the video preview files drive. Otherwise, I run out of idea now.

How much disk space left? Is it 7200rpm or 5400rpm? How do you set your preferences?

July 5, 2005 at 11:58 pm in reply to: Help!! Broken DV tape!

    Mike,
Wow, that’s bad! For my limited knowledge, I assume you are using MiniDV, like other tapes, you can savage the intact portion of the tape by opening up the DV casset, and manually reattaching the cutted end to the wheel. ie. in the back of the miniDV, unscrew the tapes, take it apart. Take out the red stopper, attach the cutted end to the red stopper… Play and record onto another tape or capture to the HD…

Good luck. More importantly, find out why the tape got stuck in your VX1000 and how to prevent it from happening.

Pro is definitely very awkward using to me, who is so used to 6.5. Some features seem so primitive and good, Adobe decided to remove them and many users (supposed to be Pro type) do not seem to have a problem, therefore, I am beginning to think, perhaps I need to get with the flow? I just wish…

June 29, 2005 at 12:12 am in reply to: rough fonts in avi imported into Premiere

    Badmin,
I m not sure if you can turn on the transparency in an avi with alpha on in PremPro, however, I always export flash in .tga w/ alpha format and then import these sequences as one clip into Premiere. Then turn on the transparency, apply the alpha filter.
Another possibility is that you may need to render them out to see if this is just becuase of the preview? Also, viewing the fonts, especially if they are not very big, on computer mon is very different than viewing them on external TV. Last, some fonts and their sizes, color uses, may not suite for certain video uses.

June 11, 2005 at 1:23 pm in reply to: Workflow question: Multiple editors, how?

How about spliting the project into 2 project files, i.e. Duplicate the project into ppj1 and ppj2, decide who is going to work from where? Then, after edited with each project, create a master project and import ppj1 and 2 and edit the joining part. Would this work?

Mike, Out of desperation, I tried this… Resize the pictures in PSP and then import them back. WOW, beautiful pictures!! My conclusion is, Premiere motion is still buggy! Thanks for your help, by the way.

    Sincerely,

    Mike,
I may not make this clear, the artifacts are on still images, not the DV footage. The stills overlays on the footage.
