    Best way to go from DV to Clips on DVD used for editing

    I have a ton of source material that i want to transfer from mini-dv tapes to dvd for editing in premiere pro 1.5. Once I capture the tape to avi files, whats the best way to compress and store it on a dvd for use in future projects without giving up very much in quality?

    Any suggestions on this process would be greatly appreciated.

    You don’t want to do that, DV quality is superior than DVD and DVD is not made for editing. If you are keeping them for later edit, why not just keep your miniDV tapes?
