Was the result using proxies the same as the raw footage? If so, I’m willing to bet you weren’t actually using the proxies.

You’re going to want to transcode the GoPro footage to edit with. Use GoPro Cineform and then build a sequence preset that keeps it all in this format all the way through. So a minute to 3 minutes of final footage is probably 5 to 10 minutes of raw footage. Your file sizes you end up working with will be substantial, but your outputs can go back to h.264. Just don’t try to edit with the h.264. You’ll get nowhere.

What kind of footage? Format, resolution and from what camera? And what are the external hard drive specs?

Right click on a clip in the Project Panel and choose properties and you’ll get a pop up of everything you want to know about the clip and its proxy. Cheers!

Just to be clear you only need to create one sequence. Create that sequence with the 4k clips and toggling on the proxies will just replace your 4k clips automatically. It won’t change the names or the sequence settings. And outputs will be full rez.

If you’ve actually cut the clips you can turn them into subclips (cmmd/ctrl U) then highlight all those in the Project Panel and export them all at once.
Or
Take the long clip into Prelude and just mark all the sections you want as subclips then export those the same way. No cutting required. The benefit of this is that the master clip will retain that metadata so no when you load that big clip you’ll be able to easily have access to everything you’ve already marked.

What exactly to you mean by you want to isolate that track? You only want the audio from that one track? And if so, how many tracks in your timeline do you want to have that audio?

You can change the length of handles for rendered clips on the Render and Replace dialogue pop up.
