Can I make the trim selection tool less finicky?
I come from Avid, so I use the trimming tool a lot. So therefore I do complex trimming in Premiere frequently. I select the A-side trim of a few clips, the B-side trim of a few clips, and trim to keep my picture, sfx, music, etc. in time.
If you move the cursor a little to the left or right, it changes to a different type of trim, and if you move it a little more, it turns back into a selection too. But the location where I can click is very, very small. Like 5 pixels wide. So I find I’m clicking imprecisely often, which is really frustrating when I’m trying to click on 10 or 20 clips to trim.
The first part is how I trim. The second is how easy it is to click off the clip.
So all you Avid editors who made the jump to Premiere (or anyone who trims in Premiere), what is your workaround to this? Am I just in the wrong tool? Is there an option in Preferences I’m missing to make this nightmare go away?
