Add a clip to your timeline, right click and select Set to Frame Size. Start there. Not Scale to Fame Size.

I have it on two machines and hardly ever use it. Like once or twice a year. I guess that still qualifies me as a user. Don’t know how you track actual use.

I don’t use proxies anymore. I just lower the resolution of the program monitor.

So I know how much you dismiss Bridge, but open up that same drive/location in Bridge and see if you get the same behavior. Maybe there’s some caching nonsense happening that Bridge can clear up for you.

Are you seeing any different behavior between list view and icon view?

Also, right click on any drive or folder and you can Add To Favorites and a Favorites listing will appear in your sidebar.

Have you set up any custom sequences that match your source footage more exactly? Here’s a ProRes example, but you can do this with any of the available preview codecs.

Have you noticed a difference with playback between when the scopes are open and when they’re closed? This can still be buggy especially on older machines. And I’m guessing you’re certain Mercury Playback is always set to the GPU.

Yeah it’s hard to find a machine that will even recognize 5k here in the future. Now that everyone is officially employed by facebook as an archivist (thanks to the camera phone) work is harder and harder to come by. Thankfully, Google Glass never caught on (though some are still trying) and, in case you’re wondering, LA still doesn’t have an NFL team.
