media browser and mercury transmit timeline playback
does anyone find the media browser a bit twitchy in a volume with a lot of folders? PPro CC 2014 on OSX – old-ish mac AJA kona card –
when drilling into the media browser on a production volume with a ton of sequential folders for client projects, I find media browser incredibly skittish – when you select a new folder, it will try to jump back to the previously selected item? It takes one or two goes for it to stick? Also scrolling up long folder lists can be a pain as it has a habit of jumping back to its original position before you can actually select a folder further up? Anyone else get this? I searched the forum, but nothing much seemed to come up.. Also the media browser really could use a favourites facility eh?
Also, knowing near nothing about my setup bar its a 3-4 year old mac, OSX 10.9, and it has a kona card – is it unusual to find the mercury transmit playback for, say, a 1080i50 xdcam material timeline to a sony BVM really inconsistent? Half the time it won’t display the still frame where you park it until you frame forward frame back a few times? Is it generally still a bit rough for most people, or is this more likely dodgy setup in the suite?

Are you seeing any different behavior between list view and icon view?
Also, right click on any drive or folder and you can Add To Favorites and a Favorites listing will appear in your sidebar.

it’s the main directory twirl down explorer list on the left side column? It’s loading a ton of numbered root folders but its just wickedly jumpy I find.
I have the folder contents set in list view…cheers,

So I know how much you dismiss Bridge, but open up that same drive/location in Bridge and see if you get the same behavior. Maybe there’s some caching nonsense happening that Bridge can clear up for you.

This behavior has been reported before and we’re investigating way to perform better in the Media Browser in certain cases.

I have not seen this myself but this is a good time to mention that AJA released new plug-ins today.
“This update to the AJA Adobe plug-in is for use with Adobe Premiere Pro CC/CC 2014, After Effects CC/CC 2014, Photoshop CC/CC 2014, Prelude CC/CC 2014, or Speed Grade CC/CC 2014 running under OSX 10.9 (Mavericks).”

just a quickie to say that the media browser has no favourites facility? there’s no add to favourites in the media browser…
edit: sigh. not in the version they have installed.
