Just drop the P50 files in a 25p timeline and they play normal speed.
FCP will remove half of frames.The shots you want slowmo-> conform in Cinema tools.

H264 IS your problem.5D footage should be converted to ProRes in Final Cut Pro 7

Use a ProRes 422/444 HD or 2K timeline.
DVPAL compression is terrible.
And you are in a SD timeline.Why?

I know this is not popular but changing your sequence settings to animation codec will give much better quality compared to ProRes422 with graphics.
But you will have to render all and loose realtime performance.Have you tried ProRes 444 as a sequence codec.

My opinion:
Apple is NOT going to bring us a iMovie Pro.
Sure, they love selling iPads.
But they also like selling MacPro’s.
Apple isn’t that stupid to hijack the Supermeet and present a consumer app , when Blackmagic has released a Thunderbolt Pro i/o in the same week.They are not ‘that’ stupid.

Probably both.
Current fcp works with most tapeless cameras.
I think you shouldnt ask which camera for fcp.
Just Which camera..
