    Hello all,

    I’ve got Apple Pro Rez videos in 23.97, 29.97 and one PAL 25fps that I’d like to print to MiniDV tapes for archival.

    Should I convert them all to DV 720×480 29.97 for the NTSC ones and in DV PAL 720×576 for the PAL one and then print to tape ? Is there a higher quality format I can use and still print to MiniDV tapes ? is HDV a good option ?

    If you do you will take a hit on the quality.

    In the last few years, I’ve become a bigger fan of digital archives. Hard drives are cheep.

    **Hindsight is always 1080p**

    Ah man, Mini-DV for archival??? That is a horrible way to go.
    Make a Digital Master and put it on a couple hard drives.

    Well I have Full Quality masters in a hard drive + a back up drive but I was thinking of a MiniDV in case.
