    Hi there,

I have to edit footages which were shooted with a 7D entirely at 720p60. Some of the footages will be used in slow motion but most of them will be used at normal speed.

Some footages were also shooted with a Canon 5D used at 1080p25.

I think I should edit in FCP using prores 720p25 in order to fit with Europe standards and being able to use slow motion from 7D when it is necessary.

For this purpose, once all canon footages are encoded in prores, I thought I should have two kind of files from the 7D:
-one type in SLOW MOTION at 25 FPS using Cinema Tools
-a second type at NORMAL SPEED at 25 FPS using compressor.

Does this look the better way to you? Is Compressor good enough for this task?

Thanks in advance for your replies…and sorry if my English is not that good…

    Sounds OK.
[Gerald Bouget] “-a second type at NORMAL SPEED at 25 FPS using compressor.”
Compressor just needs to drop half of the p50 frames, so you can set “Lineal” for the Time-base filter in Compressor (Frame Control).

Just drop the P50 files in a 25p timeline and they play normal speed.
FCP will remove half of frames.

The shots you want slowmo-> conform in Cinema tools.
