You may need to open your Audio Project settings and select Direct Out from Stereo, this will fix your audio monitoring problem, but I don’t quite understand where you are going are you heading out to tape or prepping for Pro Tools…..

You could also have Dual Split on full screen, you would see 4 triangles in all corners…I’ve done that before….

You need to open a 30 project import your QT files then close and go back to your 24p project Open the bin from the 30 project and replace the vision, I don’t if relinking will work but give it a go…Paul H

It is always handy to go to a new drive when uprezzing. Usually vision only. If something does go wrong it is easy to unmount your offline drive. This will show all offline material, to pick up the batch.
It’s handy also to keep your low res cut till final approval.You could Consolidate the High Res over in media tool and keep going…Good Luck

We are after good camera crews (Producer / Sound and camera), you’d be amazed we went through 3 crew on the West Coast all via booking houses, I could have done better on the home video, a tripod and colour balancing was apparently too much to ask for, stabilize got a workout, but we finely found a good one (bradley.stonesifer@gmail.com) in LA if you ever need one.Most of our shoots are 1 to 2 days with a follow up day 2-3 weeks later usually b-roll. Current Affairs style. So flying crews around becomes expensive, that why we look for locals. I gather Atlanta would be a 3 to 4 hour drive away. Would the crews be ok with that?
I have been talking to Jim Suss (TheEditHaus) in Atlanta as well, we worked together on the Goodwill Games in Brisbane 2002 I don’t know if you know him. He was asking around as well.

By the way do you have crews in South Carolina to shoot 1080i50 XDCAM or P2 Producer/Camera/Audio interviews and B-roll you would recommend…

I think your problem is you are on a Mac Avid? you can only transfer to Fat32. Your client is on a PC Avid I guess. You’ll need to format the firestore Mac/PC or do your transfer on a PC Avid.
We have this problem with P2 Store formatted the wrong way. Your heart skips a beat when you plug in a whole shoot and it’s missing, plug into a Mac it’s all there…Good Luck -
I think you need V4 of Avid you can mix your res on the timeline in your mastering format. I think you can get a 30 day trial from Avid give it a go.
It works well, we mix SD25i 1080i50 720p25 without worries but I haven’t put 24p in the mix yet…Good Luck -
We use a WD Sharespace that backs-up the Media Spaces and Avid Shared Projects every Sunday Night at around midnight.
We haven’t had a major crash for about 2 years, but it is nice to know you can get back to what you had on Monday morning if it all goes to #*~%… -

Dup v1 to v2(matching vision layers)
On V1 apply out of effects palette BCC Colour and Blurs, BCC Gaussian Blur in effect mode you can muck around to get your Background Look.
If it’s an old system and you don’t have Boris you can use in Blend 3D Warp in defocus select FG only in the hamburger menu that will do a decent defocus as well.
On V2 out of Key in effect apply Animatte key I like to apply the poly tool draw/click around the foreground figure, then while that animate shape is selected (selection tool) wind in feathering to get your look. If you then need to adjust keyframes in the effect add a keyframe and with the reshape tool move your spline points around don’t add more points try and get by with what you started with or strange things being too happen…Good Luck…Enjoy
