I am needing to recapture the media for my project; specifically looking at the audio so I can do an 8 track output on DVD for my client.

I am using the J-30 and Avid Media Composer 5.8.0 (no Mojo or SDI Mojo).

I am connected via firewire and doing some research I found firewire only transmits 2 full audio channels at a time. I found the menu settings to bring over channels 1 & 2 in one pass and 3 & 4 in another pass.

I batch captured my sequence but noticed nothing was split. On my sequence I have:

Channel 1 is my interview audio, Channel 2 is vo, 3 is Nat sound, 4 is effects and 5 – 8 is music.

I have my interview audio and music married together, my vo and music married together.

Any guesses to what I’m doing wrong and why my audio isn’t split?

    Thanks!

You may need to open your Audio Project settings and select Direct Out from Stereo, this will fix your audio monitoring problem, but I don’t quite understand where you are going are you heading out to tape or prepping for Pro Tools…..
