    Hi,

Have you tried sorensen squeeze instead. With that you can convert to several formats, cut down the movie and give it the fades in/out.

    Hi,

If you have registered your copy on the Apple site there is a download section for final cut. It will probably ask you for your username and password and your serial number again. It should have links to all the other updates motion, soundtrack etc.

    Hi,

I’m not sure on the software upgrading front. But you could try exporting to an older version via the:

    ‘File>Export>XML’ (Interchange Format Document)

then in your version of FC

    ‘File > Import > XML’.

    Hope it helps.

    Hi,

Your machine should be fine, but I do suggest being careful what format you wish to catch in. DV PAL should be good enough. It all depends on what you wish to output it on i.e. DVD. With DVD PAL your machine has less to process while capturing.

    Hi,

Is there no insert edit option? Assemble edit overites the timecode.

Try doing a three-point edit, that should allow the insert option to be available.

    Hi,

Don’t know if it would be easier to create a new sequence with anamorphic set and drag the other sequence inside and stretch it. Again it depends on how many clips are in your sequence.

    Hi,

Are you dragging the copied clips into the PAL sequence or dragging the NTSC sequence into it?

Also NTSC footage is smaller in height than PAL. NTSC = 720×480 , and PAL = 720×576 so you will get some black lines above and below.
