    Hi,

You can recolor the illustration with A.I. in the last version of Adobe Illustrator. Just select the entire illustration of the dress and the woman. The new generative A.I. window will appear. Click on “recolor”. In the “color library” section at the top of the window select “Group of colors” option and then the “dark green peony” from the library. This will apply the selected color library to your dress. The problem with the file is that the vectors are extremely chopped so you should create full paths or sections to color the dress uniformly.

Another option to see different colors would be using the “Generative Recolor” in the same A.I. window where you can see multiple variations of colors of the dress easily.

    Hope that helps!

  • Hi,

There is no way to create multiple artboards in illustrator with different sizes from the beginning. An option would be to create a different box shape with the size that you need. That way if you need 15 different artboards with different sizes you can create 15 boxes and then go to “object” menu / Artboards / fit to selected art.

This way you’ll get a different artboard with the exact size of all the boxes that you created.

If the same size is repeated over the documents this would be a good way to save time typing the measurements multiple times.

    Hi

You can find the blur tools/effects from the overhead menu Effect > Blur (under Photoshop Effects) and choose one of the effects to blur your image.

Illustrator, as a vector-based software, doesn’t have a realistic Blur Tool. So if you want to blur an image I would recommend you to use photoshop, which will give you more precise effects. In Illustrator you can blur edges of images or shapes.

To blur an image in Adobe Illustrator you have to simply select the image, and choose a blur effect in menu Effect > Blur (under Photoshop Effects)

There is also another option to blur under Effect > Stylize (under Illustrator Effects) > Feather.

    In order to add grain

You have to duplicate the shape or shapes that you want to add grain and go to Effect > Texture > Grain

And here you can experiment with the intensity, the contrast and grain type (I would recommend you to use Stippled format).

Once you’ll finish and set the desired type of grain click ok. And open window / transparency Here you’ll have to play with the transparency methods like overly or multiply to add the grainy effect transparency.

    Hi,

It seems you’re trying to work with grouped or ungrouped shapes. If you do that each shape will work as an independent shape when you make a 3D object.

I would recommend you to create the desired 3D effect as a grouped design.

Use Object > Expand Appearance from the menu — but the 3D effect will no longer be “live” and editable after doing so. You can then select individual pieces and alter their appearance as desired.

Ungroup the pieces and now you’ll have independent pieces that you can work with and apply independent extrusion heights.

  • Hi Erik,

If you want to merge 2 shapes in Illustrator you have to use the Pathfinder window (Window / pathfinder). Then you have to select the 2 shapes that you want to merge and click on the first “shape mode” icon which is “Unite”. This way the shapes that you’ll select will be merged into one single shape and you’ll have one single path with

    Hi,

You would have to create a spread page (2 pages with half of the width of your current page) and start the page number as page 2 so you can see the correct spread position as you had previously. After that, you would have to adjust manually the entire content (which should be easy if it’s just one box or if you have the content of each page group. I would also recommend you create the guides in the master pages of the left and right pages so all the content will be in the same position on every page.

  • Hi Igor,

This seems to be a font-related issue, not a hotkey or functionality issue. Sometimes, there are some instances of fonts (especially default system fonts like Minion, Times, Myriad… which have different versions on each system like Apple, Adobe…), and sometimes this affects also when you make the indesign package. My recommendation would be to try in a different document or try to use a different version of Minion.

    Hi André,

You would need to create a master page, and then duplicate that initial master page and apply the color changes.

This way you can use the same master page but with a different color or even different text for each section.

Then you just have to apply the specific master page to all the pages of that section.
