Hello everyone, I’m new to the Recoloring tool in Illustrator. I am having a difficult time recoloring a grayscale wedding dress I created that mimics a watercolor painting. I am using a color palette from a vintage flower as a reference to recolor. I set up a Color Group with the colors I want to use. I only want to recolor the bottom of the dress using the colors from the leaf in the photo reference (vintage yellows and dark greens). Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

You can recolor the illustration with A.I. in the last version of Adobe Illustrator. Just select the entire illustration of the dress and the woman. The new generative A.I. window will appear. Click on “recolor”. In the “color library” section at the top of the window select “Group of colors” option and then the “dark green peony” from the library. This will apply the selected color library to your dress. The problem with the file is that the vectors are extremely chopped so you should create full paths or sections to color the dress uniformly.

Another option to see different colors would be using the “Generative Recolor” in the same A.I. window where you can see multiple variations of colors of the dress easily.

    Hope that helps!
