Create a Circle-Spline or any other Spline –
Put a Align To Spline Expression on your object –
Drag your Spline to the Tag Properties Window –
Animate the position.
There might be something else, but I presume the only way
to see the changes in the Active-View might be to move the
Movie-Start-Frame forward or backward. At least you see when the changes
take place. Otherwise you have to render the active view.
In the Light-settings Visibility-Tab you might have to change
Distance/Relative Scale, maybe even Dust and Dithering to 0.
In the Noise-Tab try Wavy- or Hard-Turbulence, Octave maybe 2
and play with the other settings as well.
Well, you could use a Target-Camera – attach the target to your object –
put an Arc-Spline in position – use an Align to Spline Tag for the camera
and animate the position.
This is just one possibility.
If you like, you can download the file “SmokeTest” from my iDisk.
I presume not exactly what you’re looking for, but something to start with.
Please adjust the settings to your needs.
