Sounds like standard. CT is quite dumb when it comes to figuring out which frames to discard. There’s a bunch of different settings so you’ll want to try different combos. Also remember you must supply clips that are no longer than one shot- i.e. it will not work on one whole tape of footage. Every time recording is started and stopped on the camera- that’s one clip.

Greatly depends on the quality of the project as well as the screen it’s being projected onto. If it’s a consumer projector onto a wall be happy you can see anything. If it’s a $4000+ projector going onto a nice screen in a darkened room you should expect a good picture with calibration of the projector. If the DVD looks proper on a broadcast monitor there’s not much more you can do.

Yes on the first- or hard drive. On the second- it will not support native DVCPROHD. You’ll need some kind of HD capture card for that. For native DVCPROHD via Firewire you need Avid HD. Or FCP on a Mac.

Red is always problematic for video cameras. Send a still if possible but I’d suspect it is not out of the ordinary. This is 4:1:1 5:1 compressed DV from 1/3″ chips folks. There’s a little give and take.

It’s the 24p and higher quality HD codec that’s prized in the HVX200. You mention being satisfied with the 60i look of the PD. In that case the Z1 may be up your alley. I’d suggest renting to see what you think especially as the HVX will not be available until later this year. If there’s not an immediate need for HD right this moment it might be wise to sit tight and wait for the HVX hands-on reviews to appear.
