I generally advise against filters for DV unless you are in need of a specific creative effect. They can reduce available light and reduce optical resolution- two things already in short supply with DV.

I have no doubt such a camera will appear eventually- sort of an SDX900 for DVCPROHD. But ifyou’re looking for one with 24p I don’t know of anything official yet.

Best to stick with a SCSI drive. if you’re in L.A. or NYC these are easily found for rent.

It must be a DLT directly controlled by DVD Studio Pro. Try it. Also give the replicator a call- they may be able to loan or recommend a suitable DLT drive.

I’ve seen a lot of these “I hate hollywood” type movies- typically featuring a ragtag indie film crew trying to steal their film back. And often filming themselves in the process. Chris Gore devoted a chapter in his film festival survival guide to how tired festival programmers are of seeing these movies. They are usually characterized by weak acting and silly scripts. Now is this a response to Hollywood or an imitation?

It would be easier if you told us step by step how you’re doing it. Then we could diagnose the issue.

Try the different field settings beside AA. I’ve gotten clips to work that way.

Doesn’t matter- 24p and 29.97 will both sync fine. Shoot whichever look you like best.

There’s also the AA, BB, _CD_ field settings to play with in CT. With those included there can be quite a few different combos to experiment with before resorting to AFX.
