It’s the opposite. 24pA gives you super easy capturing to 24p and you lose no quality. 24pN gives you a lot of work to resolve to 24p and you lose a generation.

Most likely the distrib amp is adding the noise since it’s clearly not on the camera. I’d suggest using a simpler signal path if you want a clean signal.

I’d advise avoiding Broadway- they are a bit shady. Try EVS, Promax, B&H or Samy’s.

To be honest yours are the first complaints I’ve ever heard along these lines. Not to say you don’t have valid points but at the same time it seems like a vast majority of users have no problems with these issues.
The DVX100a is doing very well and I would imagine has reached the end of its development cycle for now. That said Jan and other folks from Panasonic do read these boards and improvements suggested here and elsewhere on the net are often implemented wherever feasible and realistic.

If you can afford the upgrade to a new G5 and you need Motion’s capabilities it’s awesome. On the G4 not as much but still better than nothing.

err yeah we talked about this a couple of weeks ago- maybe late 2006 or 2007. It’s sort of hard to work with vaporware.

I usually just hang them off the tripod or on a belt if it’s run and gun.
