Works fine if you get the Universal version.

if your using all DVX’s.. use free run timecode. Put all cameras on a counter and set it with the remote control all at the same time. You will get true sync on all cameras even when you turn them off and change batteries.

Yes- if you are in FCP you load it into a 4:3 sequence and then use the aspect ratio/distort controls in the motion tab of the clip. It will take a while to render though.

The 8GB cards are in very short supply. I’d suggest canceling the order and trying the other vendors like Abel Cine, Birns and Sawyer, EVS, etc. And you may have to settle for 4GB cards for now.

FCP output to P2 works fine. You play out your timeline over firewire and hit record on the HVX while in VCR mode. Did this all day yesterday.

Use the easy setups- it’s a little confusing because of how the footage is stored vs. how it’s played back. Trust me it all works perfectly if you stick with the presets.

Sure that’s doable but it’s kinda inefficient from a production standpoint to shoot everything twice and make sure both formats get the best takes. Why not settle either on widescreen or fullscreen with the client and shoot what they want? Or shoot 16:9 and protect for 4:3 as most TV show and sport programs do. Like this:

Frezzis are good, also the LED Lites. Take a trip to the local camera shop if you can afford too.
