  • Ron, you can use the secondary CC on an event. I do it all the time. I have noticed in the earlier versions of SVP 11 that the FX didn’t work properly sometimes. For example, I would load the brightness and contrast FX and no sliders, nothing, appears. Just a blank window. I shutdown Vegas, reload it and the FX adjusters appear. Exit the event and go back in to tweak it … and the sliders have gone! Restart Vegas and all is good for one time again. This got quite annoying and I gave up using SVP 11 until now.

Thankfully, the latest version of SVP 11 seems to have fixed this. I am using it to edit a 5 hour project with event level FX adjustments and so far so good.

Is your copy of Vegas legit? Download and install the latest SVP 11 executable from the Sony website, and if the problem persists, report it to Sony support.

  • I am not sure if the Vegas code is optimised for or can take advantage of dual CPU systems

My system specs: Intel i7 970, 12GB RAM, ASUS P6T, Vegas Pro 10e (x32/x64), Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, Vegas Production Assistant 1.0, VASST Ultimate S Pro 4.1, Neat Video Pro 2.6

  • Right mouse click in the actual preview window and remove the tick next to Adjust Size and Quality for Optimal playback.

Done any large multicam projects with Ultimate S and SVP 11? I am currently working on one that is 5 hours long which I will split during the render stage.

Tried that. My audio track buffer is already disabled because Vegas crashes during scrubbing otherwise. Will have to do a bit of trial and error.

    I am running a i7 970 + GTX 570. Still laggy, but bearable.

10e does the same. No new plug-ins.

I have gone to the latest version of 11. Hopefully my usual multicam workflow with Ultimate S will not bomb out during renders. I have done projects in V11, but not multicam.

I have recently replaced my project drives with 2 x 2TB (mirrored), hopefully there is no issue there. I have done a couple of projects since the upgrade, including a stage show multicam shoot that went on for 2.5 hours, but that was in 10c.

  • What is your de-interlace method set to in your project properties: None, blend or interpolate? I set it to blend for my DVD output
