ah yes.. zoom to playhead!
a long cherished dream of all fcp editors!
but in reality, you dont zoom to playhead, you can only zoom to selection.
one of the many comands in FCP where selection takes precedent.
but once youve zoomed into a selected clip, and you want to egt to hte playhead, it’s really simple:
you just nuge the playghead forward one frame, and FCP wakes up to itself, and takes you to it.
i use the left /right arrows to nudge/move a frame at a time.
if the frame you plarked on was crucial, then go left arrow, right arrow, to jog FCP into place, and to wind up back on the frame.
oh, yes, you should de-select, too, before you go to far.
That;s Shift Apple A ( the opposite of apple A for select all)
(i re-map to Apple D for De-select)
i do this so often, ive kind of forgotten about wanting “zoom to playhead”
