Downloaded the 4.5 upgrade. Can’t get it to install. Keeps telling me that 4.5 won’t installl on this computer, make sure that Final Cut Pro is in the Applications Folder. It is and works great. I’ve tried everyting I can think of. I even put the updater in the Applications folder hoping that it could ‘see’ the Final Cut Pro. But it thinks I don’t have it I guess. Any ideas?

    Richard,

FYI, OS10.3.4 seems to be the most stable version for us G4 types. Keep this in mind once you’ve got FCPHD installed successfully but start to have any difficulties with FW drives or general FCP stability issues in the future.

When I installed FCP 4.1 I immediately did the upgrade to FCPHD amd found no problems doing so. A suggestion would be to try uninstalling the 4.1 version and then reinstalling everything right up to v.4.5. Just a thought.

FCP needs ot be directly in hte Applications filder, not within anohter folder, otherwise the installer cant see it.

also, it needs ot be labled Final Cut Pro, with no numbers on hte end.

Thanks all for the help. Finally I uninstalled 4.1 and re-installed 4.0 (from the cds–which was an upgrade from Express) then used the Apple upgrade to 4.5. Worked fine. Must have been something to do with the 4.1 upgrade. The 4.5 upgrade didn’t like it at all.

    Cheers,

    Richard
