Sounds like your sequence settings are wrong, ie they do not match the digitised media.
eg offline quality media being edited into a DV quality timeline.

In your browser check the compressor settings and the frame size of your source material then create a edit seq with the same settings

Great system, i would go with Blackmagic multibridge for extra flexability.

However i think you need to spend some more money on disk drives.

ie a RAID like Huge systems or Apple XRAID

    ‘I can’t find out what it’s going to improve…or fix? ‘

The current FCP 5 will not run on the new Intel MAC so its a big fix if you have an Intel chip hence the new software but for the rest of us wait until FCP 6

  • Why not ask Avid themselves let them sell you a $100k Symphony Nitris against a FCP system

oh and post their answers on why we should spend so much money on a Symphony Nitris against a decent FCP system.

    There is only one format

    $$$$

hopperHD I am not sure how it works in the US TV market but here in the UK the Broadcaster will commission the producer to make the tv show and give them a budget and dictate the technical requirements ie they are happy with DV or Digibeta or HDCAM etc and the budget will reflect that.

Why not contact the TV network that will take your show and ask them what format they want it to be shot on.

We rent our cameras the rental goes on the clients budget and we make money as a % of the total budget

Remember only one format $ and profit

Thanks for the clips, interesting results some CA and a little noise but very impressive for the money (it is also nice to see footage that has been shot under challenging lighting conditions rather than studio set)

For a quick P2 turnaround Panasonic are very slow in coming up with approved demo footage !

‘I do have a spare $10,000 and I will get the HVX and I will deliver on WMV-HD for real clients I have now’

Yes but you still need to be able to edit in DVCPRO 100HD first.
