Is there any way you can just move your lights further away so the camera won’t see them? Otherwise, if you can’t see the effect of the goboed light when you tilt up or whatever you could just animate the opacity of the gobo to disappear when the camera looks in its direction. What exactly do you mean by “bend?” I assume you want to do some sort of warping- if so you don’t need a plug-in. Just use the mesh warp effect. It allows you to move handles around on a grid and the image/video layer “bends” along the curved lines. You can also try the liquify effect for more precise warping.
That looks really sweet though! Way better than anything you could get out of a particle generator or any other CG method. That makes me want to try it now.
