And what are those lements? Do you need distance and position readouts? Labeling that moves with other layers? You have to be more specific. There are jsut too many possibilities.

Like Mark said – use animators for character value and offset. Unless you need a specific string to appear based on other formulas, there is no point in using expressions at all.

Work methodically and follow the steps Steve laid out. Your project also seems to be rather heavy, so I’d first separate the comps in a sensible order and create separate projects. Getting rid of unnencessary footage elements etc. might do wonders and at least some of those separated projects are guaranteed to render flawlessly. When that’s done, sifting thru the rest and finding the problems should be much, much easier.

To make the line actually draw, put the path spline inside a SweepNURBS object and animate the End Growth parameter, then use the technique described by Samir to get syncronous motion for the camera.

November 28, 2006 at 5:21 am in reply to: MOGRAPH : using a shader to repel objects ?

Like Adam said – use a random effector to only change the weight of the clones, then use your shader effector to actually make the clones move. If you are looking for a bulging effect, you may need to create a custom greyscale sequence from your footage to control the “height”. A simple way of doing this inside C4D might be using a Colorizer shader based on the Alpha channel of your keyed sequence. In general you might consider using multiple effectors and shaders to get you desired result for more control. Use each effector only with the property you want to affect, then make multiple effectors add up.

Dunno the effect itself, but you may need to have a duplicate of your text layer without the effect and have an invisible transition somewhere. If there’s an option for it, alos animate the size of the fragments/ particles.
