It’s interesting to see how this is working. You have yours in your hand, yet if you call Apple they will tell you that they aren’t shipping yet… not until the 31st.
I placed an order on 4/24 with overnight shipping and mine hasn’t shipped yet. Somebody else placed an order 2 days ago and they have a tracking number for delivery today.
It’s nice to know that your place in line means nothing…

Today I went back to 10.4.8 and it works. There are reports that once it’s installed you can upgrade to 10.4.9, but I haven’t tried this…

Now i would like to know how I can maximize what I have so that my Mac doesn’t drop frames or run out of ram.
I can’t run RT unlimited on FCP casue it will drop frames. I though that with 4.5 Gb of memory I would be in good shape.
Does anyone have any suggestions?”First, you should post this on the FCP forum, not the OS X forum.
Second, what format are you working with? Unless you’re working with HD or uncompressed SD, you should not be dropping any frames with that system. It’s plenty fast and you have the maximum amount of ram that FCP can currently make use of.
Third, whether or not you have the sequence matched to your source clips will not induce dropped frames. It will force rendering, but not result in dropped frames.
Post more info on your workflow… type of footage, how you’re capturing, OS version, FCP version, any other hardware you’re using, etc.

On a Mac, when using the P2 Store, I’d have to say that an 8GB card is probably closer to 17 minutes. This is a C2D MBP, which is definitely USB 2. That older PowerBook G4 may be USB 1…

I’d say it’s more the Firestore than the Mac. I’ve never seen any of that and I shoot every week… but then I will not use the Firestore…
