FCP6 can now record out to a P2 card in an HVX200! P2 Import is now in a better place, the “Log & TRANSFER” window. “Archive to Folder” is going to make all you P2 users pee yourselves, I am!

All the P2 info is in the “HD and Broadcast Formats” heading in the FCP Help menu. Pretty awesome!

Has tons of new things in FCP6, lots of tiny things, and they all add up to a fantastic upgrade! Great Job Apple!

Why would you ever need to do that?

I thought this was always possible Ben.

    What has changed?

Apple never outlined a real process for it before, it was possible, but users had to figure it out themselves. It’s a minor thing. The archive feature is great, though, and practical.

[David Saraceno] “I thought this was always possible Ben.”

It was… many of us have been doing it since we got the 200’s over a year ago…

[bbalser] “FCP6 can now record out to a P2 card in an HVX200! “

We’ve been able to do that all along. I’m guessing that your point is that it’s easier now?

[bbalser] “P2 Import is now in a better place, the “Log & TRANSFER” window.

I guess I don’t understand, can you explain? This window doesn’t look a lot different to the old “P2 Import window”…

[bbalser] “Has tons of new things in FCP6, lots of tiny things, and they all add up to a fantastic upgrade! Great Job Apple! “

Have you confirmed that it can work directly with MXF files? There seems to be a lot of conflicting info there…
