    i just checked my SONIC dvd authoring program and i can select PAL as my source encode.

    Do you know if i need to be playing the tape off of a PAL deck? or can i use NTSC deck and encode it with a PAL setting?

    also you are saying I need a PAL playback deck and monitor as well?

    my company can buy a transcoder for PAL. is that all we need? what is the process involved to get it to work?

    there is no HQ setting on the effect. I am on MComposer not xpro

    im running windows xp. im an on a network for my job so i am not sure if i can create a new account or not.

  • i dropped 5.7 and went back to 5.6.

    read my post below about corrupt user settings. no matter what they keep getting corrupt and i couldn’t import a movie with an alpha channel.

    not sure if you saw the movie, The Secret, but i think they use the exact trick. I stepped through it frame by frame and it seems to be the same.

    thanks for the tip grinner!

    i used this effect to blow up a MS to a CU. It looks a little pixelated at 150 percent, but it is passable.

    i used a zoom blur to make it look good and also a levels adjustment on the layer above. Looks sweet especially with a swoosh sound effect!

    i am not at my computer to try you effect but am in understanding correctly…the first and last keyframes are set to what?? i would imagine they would be set to 0 percent so the effect ramps up and then down. is that the case or no?

    the clip had banding during the transition but i think i made it out.

    so basically you are using the wide shot and resizing up to the max percent to match your medium shot of the woman. then you are cutting to the medium shot of the woman? and at the same time using a little blur to make the resize not look pixelated?
