Hi
You dont need sdi for your pvm to work wuth the multibridge! Multibridge can handle s-video, coponent video and composite video…..Besides the sdi monitor card for the pvm would probably cost just as much as a 24″dell lcd. The pvm will looks best for standard def. -
Well I’ve never seen sd look good on any lcd …When I’m out at the shops, no consumer grade monitor looks any good displaying a dvd. Our dell 24 inch lcd looks pretty crap trying to show dv or dvd on it. But for hd its amazing. We have a little sony pvm for sd too.

Hi Kristian
So would you say the multibridge extreme is designed to be left on perminently along with tape decks etc? Thanks

Wow 24hrs a day! I guess you have some heavy duty surge protection? What about battery back up…..we have only got a simple surge protector with out any battery backup. I’m always scared that there is going to be a massive power surge and everthing will fry! I guess that is what you are supposed to do…… leave it on with all your other gear?
….any other procedures?
thanks miles

Hi
Yes I have used the text filter thing for when i rendered my dv offline but it would be cool if after effects could easily diplay the frames information. If you ever import a image sequence and there is a frame missing AE will generated the missing frames(lableing them, with a colour bars background) it would be cool if it could just superimpose this in the corner of regular frames so I dont loose track. There are going to be hundreds of sequences …And I can see it getting very complex and messy.
Thanks for any suggestions

Well there you go …..the blaclmagic project settings you sellected don’t match the properties of the quicktime file you are trying to play. What you need to do is either re-render the quicktime file in blackmagic settings or recapture it or find a blackmagic premiere preset that likes your files. There should not be any redline.Miles

Are avi just as slow to load as quicktime? This does sound a bit wierd. Is it slow in aftereffects or just premiere. When they do land on the timeline is there a red line ubove them?thanks

we dont have this problem at all…..
-a8n32sli deluxe
-4800+
-4x300gb rais onboard
-asus x19xt graphics 3gigs ram.
-multibridge extremeI don’t think its your graphics ,I think it is propbably an installation problem. Did you have quicktime installed before loading multibridge drivers?…… also is the quicktime file one you rended or captured through blackmagic codecs.
Your hardware setup should be fine….. But I know we had a few nightmare weeks getting it all configuered. Have you disabled the blackmagic desktop dislay driver?
Cant think of any other reasons.
