Encore may not try to recompress it. Import it and look at the Transcode column in the Project window.

Try;
File>Export>Adobe Media Encoder
Choose Quicktime as the Format and H264 as the Codec. 320×240 CBR.
You may need to change the file extension. -

Some flicker is inevitable. -
Does the Elmo have a variable speed knob? That might be the solution.
I do quite a bit of 8mm/super8 film to DVD. WE started using an old VHS camera with good results, then it quit. WE tried several consumer DV cams that resulted bad flicker, then tried a VX 2100 that works very well on manual focus and auto exposure..
If you are capturing in Premiere via firewire, there is nothing short of changing the luminance of every frame to fix things in Premiere. -
AE has changed and creating motion graphics is really easy. Just create your text and then drop one of a zillion available Animation Text presets on it. Change speed and direction to suit.

Premiere has never been able to export Divx well.
If your footage from DV tape was shot in the Widescreen mode, open it in a Widescreen project and then export as Mpeg 2 DVD Widescreen. Most DVD players will interpret the footage as widescreen automatically, some will require making a manual setting using the remote. -
Perry, how many Bridges do you have…make sure you are using Bridge CS3, not 2.0.

I am reading between the tea leaves…you exported your 5 minute movie at uncompressed.avi?? It is just over 4 GB in size. Uncompressed wont play smooth on most PCs..net a Raid array to read that much data per second.

available here on the Cow. It is about 4 hours and well worth every $ and minute. -
Update audio drivers…AC 97 sound card can cause this.
