CFA files are Conformed Audio Files will be regenerated. Other files you are missing might be Video and audio preview files, again these will regenerate as needed. If after opening your project there are no “Offline” files in your timeline you are OK.

Quick fix; apply Flicker removal to the photos.
Unsafe colors and thin horizontal lines in photos can cause them to animate. Also high res files often dont downsize well.
Photoshop work can fix many problems. Resize to 720×480 (CS) or 720 x 540 (earlier versions)…maybee a little larger if you are doing motion on the stills. Apply a small vertical blur to areas that have thin horizontal lines like buildings. Desaturate areas of hot reds to below 235. -

Are trying to make a DVD that plays in a standalone DVD player? Are you using only Pro 1.5 and not another authoring app?
Why chop your video up in sections? Are you trying to create chapters with menus ? -

Suggest putting the entire DV file on the timeline along with your audio tracks and export as a new DV file which then can be edited normally.

I dont think a 1.8 P4 processor is enough for a studder free playback. I have seen a 2.0 that could not do it. INHO a 2.6 HT P4 is about the minimum.

How are you converting to Mpeg 4 in Premiere??? There are some legacy export settings you should avoid “Microsoft MPEG-4 Video Codec V1 and V2”.
Use Windows Media Video 9 from the Adobe Media Encoder. 720 x 480 is 4 times the resolution as 320 x 240 so the files will be bigger, but I am afraid poor. Upsizing video or stills is pretty much a lost cause as the results will be noticably pixelated. -
Scratch disc assignment is done in Edit>Preferences>Scratch discs.

The only problem I have noticed with .mov files is than conforming audio takes a long time. If the QT player was installed after Pro’s installation, I would try reinstalling Pro.
