I’m something of a newbie, so please forgive me if my question seems basic.

I completed a project using PP1.5 last year and have been asked to make a few minor edits for a newer version of the produced video.

When I “finished” the project last year, I basically stopped using the hard drive it was on. Now that it’s time to use it again, PP seems to want to link various .avi and .wav files to locations that haven’t been changed.

Stranger, it’s asking for file names that a) aren’t used in the project; and b)weren’t created with that file name and don’t show up anywhere using the search function in Windows XP.

Sometimes it asks for a file that shows up as a .cfa (whatever that is) but the actual .wav can’t be found anymore.

Again, NOTHING has been erased from the hard drive.

Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening?

    Thanks,

CFA files are Conformed Audio Files will be regenerated. Other files you are missing might be Video and audio preview files, again these will regenerate as needed. If after opening your project there are no “Offline” files in your timeline you are OK.

Did the drive letter of the drive change hen you mounted it this time? The project file includes the drive letter for every file it uses. The cfa files will recreate themselves.
