    Hi Guys

I’m new to PP 1.5 but I’m a long time NLEditor (AVID, DPS Velocity etc). One question…I’m trying to get as much performance out of a 1.8 ghz processor, 1 gig ram and scsi discs (both system and video drives)…is this possible?

So far I’ve set it up to playback on DV hardware only and I’ve shut off the waveforms…anything else I can do to quit dropping frames? It doesn’t happen during capture…only playback…

    Thanks in advance…

What background processes is your system running? Try turning off everything, including your AV software. Also, defrag your drives often.

    Thanks Aanarav

I have 18 processes running including svchost etc. I thought if I shut them all off my computer wouldn’t run…no?

I dont think a 1.8 P4 processor is enough for a studder free playback. I have seen a 2.0 that could not do it. INHO a 2.6 HT P4 is about the minimum.

    Hmm…I was wondering about that…

Is that a consensus? Anyone having luck with a 1.8?

BTW-Wouldn’t turning off all the services make the computer quit?
