If there is a RED “needs rendered” line in your sequence above the video, your computer does nat have the power to preview every frame. Rendering preview files (enter) should solve this.

What capture card? Dropping frames on capture will result in audio sync issues.

Not seeing this in an OHCI enviornment, what capture card are you using?

I just went down that road…as Aanarav suggested, copy the installation files to the root directory of C drive, not to My Documents.

What capture card are you using? If Canopus, are your setting set for Reference files?
Is you computer;s file system set to NTFS, not Fat32? -

You are capturing with the highest quality possible with the Canopus card.
Capturing from a DV camcorder or deck is simply data transfer adding an .avi wrapper…no changes to quality.
Capturing from an analog source like a VCR, your card will convert the analog signal to DV using the Canopus codec which is on of the best.
