I’m trying to install premier pro 2 from a dvd, and after the initial loading plaques, right after I choose the language and just as the install plaque appears, I get a C++ runtime error, saying that “this program has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way”… and the setup cancels.
    any suggestions?
    Thank you in advance.

Copy all the files from the disc to the computer’s harddrive and run setup.exe. It should work.

I just went down that road…as Aanarav suggested, copy the installation files to the root directory of C drive, not to My Documents.

ok… I transferred the files to my harddrive, but now when i start the install, it asks me for the language, I select English, I see a brief flash of “preparing to install”, then nothing.
    I’m confused…
and thank you for your help.

I’m the only one authorized for this pc… There’s only one profile, and that’s mine, and that profile has all admin priviledges.

I don’t know if this has anything to do with it, but I did have the trial version installed before I tried to install this version.
The trial version said that I needed to uninstall it before I installed the full version of Premiere Pro 2.
Also, I have 1.5 installed right now… but as I understand it, Premier 2 is a parallel install, and shouldn’t have any conflict with 1.5.
At least, that’s the way we have it at work… both 1.5 and 2 on the same comp… and they both work great.
