capuring in premiere pro 1.5
When using adobe primer pro 1.5 to capture video from vcr / camcorder, etc, which format is used most widely by industry professionals for editing? For the last couple of years, Ive been capturing all my video using a canopus acedvio capture card. I just assumed that .avi was the only format I could capture in. I recently read somewhere that capturing in QT was a more common practice b/c of better quality and ease of scrubbing and editing in premier. NOt really sure how much truth there is to that and not even sure if I can capture in different formats. Are mpeg/qt/avi capture options a responsibility of the card or are there plugins in premier that will allow these diff. format captures?
If it is the card, I do not believe the acedvio allows anything else other than .avi. Could someone suggest another capture card that could capture in several formats and is compatible with premier pro? Really new to all this so forgive me if anything i said above is way off.
Thanks!
