Pro cant export an AC3 audio file without an expensive plug-in, but Encore can convert the .wav file that Pro creates with the Mpeg encode to AC3. This avoids an intermediate export of DV or uncompressed video for Encore to encode.

Your clip buffered for several minutes before playing on my 500+ KBs cable connection…way too long.
“mms” is an internet protocol for streaming Windows Media Video, requires special server software *Windows Server*. It reduces the buffering times considerably. -
Transitions wont work between tracks since A/B editing died, other than using opacity fades or a black or white color matte in a superior track over the join.

Premiere and most NLE’s can access any most any codec installed on a system…at least for export. To use the Canopus hardware you will need those drivers that will never come.

The Adobe media Encoder offers “Presets” for each Format. Choose “WM9 NTSC 256K Download”…the result will be about 2 MB per minute.
A 25 minute video will buffer too long on a HTTP server before play begins. Cut the video into thirds or use a “mms” server for true streaming with much less buffer times. -
Editing in a network enviornment can be problematic. Ordinary servers often wont deliver the video in a timely fashion because they are serving everyone and also have other duties including constant polling of computers. Keep media on local discs and disconnect from the network when editing.
Networking software often includes virus scanning app and other distractions that cannot be disabled without admin rights.
Suggest removable system drives, one for networking and the other with just the apps needed for editing. -
Set In and Out points in the Source monitor and then drag that to the Project window, renaming as needed.

I have not tried it, but for a codec to exceed 4 gb file size it needs to be Open DML. I suspect QT DV is.

With Scenalyzer Live you can capture time lapse to your PC with options on duration and interval…you will end up with just what you need…30 seconds.

1. Digital Video is really just an editing medium. For local playback try Windows Media Video 9 at about 2mbps or even Mpeg 2 at about 8 mbps.
2. You are seeing fields…they dont display well on a PC monitor. For local playback choose to deintelace your export.
