Encoding Codecs
Good Day All,
Up until recently I’ve been semi-happily editing along using PPro 1.5 and a Canopus DVRexRT w/M2. Due to a hard disk crash and a few choice words, I’ve built a new machine, upgraded to PPro 2 and attempted to move the DVRexRT over.
New machine works like a champ and is FAST. (Intel 930, 955 chipset, 2GB RAM, 600GB RAIDed SATA)
I’m disappointed that it doesn’t look like Canopus will provide support for PPro 2 but…
When I opened some PPro 1.5 projects in PPro 2.0, the Canopus codec was there (export/movie/settings/compressor) along with Cinepak, DivX Pro, Indeo, etc. And the Canopus codec ran great.
When I open a new project, only the MS codec is available.
Any thoughts ?

Premiere and most NLE’s can access any most any codec installed on a system…at least for export. To use the Canopus hardware you will need those drivers that will never come.

Yes, you’re right. I shouldn’t be able to use the Canopus hardware if the drivers aren’t installed.
But it seems to me that I should be able to see the all the codecs regardless of which project I pull up – and that’s my point. I’m not able to see them all consistently.
