    Is motion slightly jerky? While playing in a standalone DVD player can you pause playback and then advance one frame at a time (my pause button does this)? Does the video advance as expected/
    You may have your fields reversed. Digital video worldwide is lower field first, although Matrox might be different.

    Is your source video DV?
    What effects have you applied? Any color correction?

    WMV encoding typically takes a lot longer than Mpeg 2, but not as long as you are experiencing. I suspect your high bitrate might be part of the problem. I find that 2.5 mbps gets as good results as higher bitrates.

    In Scenalyzer (File>Options>Capture settings>File type) choose Type 2 DV for Premiere.
    Scenalyzer will output an addition wave file if you select Second channel in Options just below above.

    What size is your Project file (.prproj)? I have seen long load times on project files in excess of 20 MB. I have seen bloated project files in excess of 50 MB.

    With your CTI at the frame you want to freeze choose File>Export Frame. Drag the new still from your Project Window to the CTI in a superior track and stretch its’ duration as needed.

    Suggest nesting sequences;
    Drag the Sequence icon for your stills from the Project bin into a new sequence, them applying the duration changes to that.

    MOV files can include one of a dozen or more codecs. My still camera does MOV files that are Sorenson 3 and import into Premiere fine, albeit very slow. It could take several minutes to import one clip.
    If you get an error message on import, then Premiere cant handle that consumer format. Premiere Elements is designed to handle more consumer formats than Pro.
    Did your camera come with a video editor? It might be able to convert your MOV files into DV.avi for use in Premiere.
    If you are serious about video editing, get a DV/HDV camera.

    My limited experience with capturing HDV is that it is not data transfer, but a conversion process. The captured file is not ready as soon as the tape ends, depending on the computers speed, the conversion continues for some time.

    Suggest exporting your project’s audio as a new .wav file, and then place that directly below your existing audio tracks and turn off original audio tracks.

    Search the Help for “Player region code” for the full story. Here is an excerpt;

    You can allow all regions to play your DVD, or only a select number of them. Region coding only works consistently on replicated DVDs. Some DVD players may read region coding correctly on projects written directly to DVD‑R, while others will not.
