  • Crashes and very, very long reloading project

    Hello.

Working in CS3 on a project in HDV 720p25 and I have many hours of rushes (equivalent of 200gb). My problem is that the program keeps on crashing, fair enough – not for the first time I’m dealing with crashes – but the big big problem is that it takes up to 2 hours to reload the project? The “load project” bar just hangs there in the air without saying anything for an hour or a two and then, pop – the project snaps in place… I will never get through this!!!

Can anyone help me? I’ve got a P4 with 3.2 ghz (hyper-threading enabled) and a 2gb of Ram running a WinXP SP2. The project and all the media is all on a separate RAID 0 drive.

    Regards.

What size is your Project file (.prproj)? I have seen long load times on project files in excess of 20 MB. I have seen bloated project files in excess of 50 MB.

Just change the name of your project from autosave given name to any other name and it should speed up than.

Try importing the project into an new project with the same settings as the one your trying to open.

How many editors does it take to change a light bulb?

Change the name given to your project, sometimes if you use autosaved (computer given) name it takes very long to load it.

I have changed the name of the file, however, it still is taking forever and a day to open. I have loaded my file onto 3 different iMacs, and they are loading for 2 hours now. They are not networked together, so they are not opening the file from the same source. Anything else I can do???? Adobe should not have released this version, this is absolutly insane.
