Gilles, I agree about the help file being less than helpful 🙁
Sony has a series of training videos and tutorials on their site that will hopefully be more helpful.
DVD Architect ProDid you finalize the RW disc? Other than that I don’t know what to suggest. Discs are so cheap these days that I no longer bother with them. If I burn a coaster, all I’m out is my time which is worth more than a blank disc 🙂

I’m no DVDA expert but my understanding is that they’re essentially the same thing. That is, the destination of both a link and a button can be changed with the Action tab to go to a specific location (i.e. scene). Hope this helps. -

Do your project properties match your source footage?
I can’t remember what kind of computer you have but it has to be a strong one (i7 with lots of RAM) to be able to handle footage like this. -

File – Properties.
Set things the way you want and check the box at the bottom of this window that says Start all new projects with these settings.
Be advised that every new project will start with these settings so you might have to change them depending on your specific needs but it’s the only way I know to do what you want. -

There’s a slim chance that I’ll be up your way sometime after Christmas but nothing has been firmed up yet. I will definitely let you and Tom know if I do plan a trip.

John, the Preview window shouldn’t affect your ability to see the FX.
Having said that, it is possible that you inadvertently clicked on a setting that would cause this not to show.
Do me a favour and apply a completely different effect (e.g. 100% black and white) to the event, see if it displays as expected and report your findings.
