According to Automatic Duck’s website, the newest version will transcode the media to DNxHD. However as Shane mentioned, the effects will not transfer properly and the Nitris colorist will have to recreate everything.

You could output to tape and deliver an HD tape to the post house for color but you would lose handles. Any clip that needed fixing would have to be fixed on your FCP system and put to tape or exported as a self contained QT with the Avid codec. An EDL would provide the cut info.

    Color bars

  • Are you including the cross dissolve on both tracks of video? Also, you’ll need to extend the upper track so that it goes as long as the lower track with the dissolve, meaning that if you have a 2 second dissolve, you’ll need to add 30 frames to the track with the blur so that both end at the same time in the effect.

    Hope this makes sense.

I got this error a few weeks ago and had to reinstall Compressor and QMaster. I had been using Compressor for months with no problems. Not sure why it happens but it did. Follow instructions on uninstalling Compressor and download Pacifist to make the install easier.

Thanks, I reinstalled DVDSP and it works now.

  • Recently I tried to rip a dvd for FCP and kept getting a prompt to purchase MPEG2 playback from Apple. I had done this before and never had to purchase anything. Did something change?

Do the sequence settings match the clip settings? I bet you are bringing in a movie file of one compression and it doesn’t match your sequence, that’s why you’re rendering. It could also be a frame rate issue. Lots of things could be at issue here, check that everything matches.

So that should work flawlessly right? I don’t need to worry about EDL’s, fixing edits or anything? And the audio should stay in sync with everything after putting the terranexed 29.97 and the original 29.97 together?
