So FCP can’t do the conversion live? I thought it could add pulldown on the fly.

What about taking the tape that I made yesterday, HDCAM 23.98 and putting it through a terranex, then digitizing it at 1080i29.97 and replacing all the 23.98 in the timeline? I’d marry the newly terranexed 23.98 to the original media of 29.97. Make sense?

I don’t think it’s a matter of adjusting the device control setting for playback because the frame is coming in at exactly the right point. The problem is that the first frame is doubled.

The deck is set for 1080i23.98.

Yes there is house sync going to both the deck and the kona although I have the kona set for freerun ref.

Yes I am viewing this on an external plasma. Within FCP and QT all the movement looks fine.

Try exporting the clip as a quicktime and when you import and drop it into the sequence it will be rendered and won’t slip.

You can make a mask of the sunny sky and lay in the cloudy sky.

Thanks Jeremy. Unfortunately this gave me the same issue of showing the frame I begin on and until I stop playback and then it shows the frame it ends on. I need a way to convert from 1080 23.98 to 1080 29.97 so that the DLP thinks it’s getting 29.97 and will play back. Any other suggestions besides putting in a plasma or LCD?
