well looky there, maybe that was a new feature with Leopard upgrade. Guess I fell asleep on this one.
Don’t even want to think how this is really being used.

Motion 3 does a much better job of slowing footage down when you turn on the optical flow (this is/was Shake’s engine)
For making 30 into 24P it takes special software to do a do job of that. Magic Bullet has a good program for this.

There is no way of recording the actual Video iChat session within iChat (this is a promised future feature though) maybe a screen capture program would work but I don’t have one to try. I know you can record yourself with the built-in iSight camera within QT Pro.

Google – ripping software for the mac. I use Cinematize but there are free software out there. Then you take the QT and then compress it to a web standard.
Connect video out of your dvd player to in video in of you camera, press play, press record.

What is your deck control set for in FCP L&C, it needs to be on Firewire. (this way you should also be able to control the camera.
Also did you shoot the tapes on LP (90 minutes) vs SP (60 minutes)?

DO NOT use slickers/labels for any reason!
I get the maxells are tapeonline (look to the left) if you need an image on them get an inkjet printer.

This sounds more like a problem than a bug. I would say the remedy is repair work at your friendly Panasonic shop.

What version of FCP5 are you running?
MXF files will not playback in anything until they are transfer (in which they became QT files) or if you have software installed that can read MXF files, like Raylight.

I think he is asking about a recorder but it is not clear.
But the Playstation 3 is awesome and most future proof of any player. The up-convert maybe the best of BR players also.
