A client wants to use Leopard’s iChat feature to record and then post Q&A sessions on his website for his customers. From the Apple website iChat actually looks very promising for that functionality, but I’ve never used it, has anyone else?

    TIA,
    David

There is no way of recording the actual Video iChat session within iChat (this is a promised future feature though) maybe a screen capture program would work but I don’t have one to try. I know you can record yourself with the built-in iSight camera within QT Pro.

Are you certain Michael? The Apple website says:

    Chatting for the record.
Now you can save your audio and video chats for posterity with iChat recording. Before recording starts, iChat notifies your buddies and asks for their permission to record. When you’re done chatting, iChat stores your audio chats as AAC files and video chats as MPEG-4 files so you can play them in iTunes or QuickTime. Share them with colleagues, friends, and family or sync them to your iPod and play on the go.

well looky there, maybe that was a new feature with Leopard upgrade. Guess I fell asleep on this one.

Don’t even want to think how this is really being used.

Havent used the built-in recorder on ichat, but i have used conference recorder by icamm. only $15. For what its worth, its pretty good, records into a h264 file. maybe something you want to look into..
