Never buy HDs from Apple they are the same drives that sell for under $200. I like WD Caviar drives myself.

FCP does not handle mixed resolution or frames rates without rendering any mismatch. The question is always what is the deliverable.
There is no magic setting that will handle this. If you need to stay in HD you will need to convert all the SD graphics to HD and 24p, not a good idea. Or if your graphics are the most important you need to downconvert the HD and add pulldown to edit in a 30p (should really be 29.97) to match the graphics.

Well which one to learn would be based on which jobs are you having to pass more on. If you have to give up work because you don’t use AVID the most, moving to Premiere doesn’t make sense even if it easier to learn.
If you know how to edit all you need to do is to learn which buttons to press and the training books are normally a good place to start. Adobe has the Classroom in a Book series.
The main thing is to learn each program wants to work. AVID editors have a lot of issues with FCP when they try to get FCP to act like and AVID, it would be the same problem going the other way. Use an AVID like an AVID and not like a FCP. Same for Premiere.

There is a web design forum, would be better to post something like this in there. Most file upload plugins are very limited as to the size of the file, 64MB is normally as high as you can set them but by default they can be a lot smaller. Using a true FTP client is normally a better way to get your own videos up on your site.

Try the USB connection. FW should work, but the USB is for PCs and the FW for Macs.

It is always easier to trouble others problems. When it is your’s your brain can get turn off.

Have you tried taking the 24p footage into Compressor and turning on the Frames Control and selecting Reverse Telecine. Try that on a couple of clips and test.

You would need extra equipment, a video capture card (black Magic, AJA or matrox) and you log and capture. You don’t say what camera you are using so help will be generic.
The other way is to downconvert he all the clips in Compressor and edit these. But Log and Transfer will not downconvert on ingesting.

Those to problems can be a problem with your drives, doesn’t matter how many drives you have, they can be failing or that the PCI card or mother board there is a problem.
For trouble shooting
– Does this happen on older projects?
– What about projects with a different codec?
– Do you have a FW800 drive you can copy some footage to and test it, also log and transfer some P2 cards to this new drive.
– Transcode some of the clips to ProRes and test it in a new project.This will help determine if it is a drive, system issue or a codec issue.

Because of this I’m assuming that you are using FCP, but you never state that. -
If your video was shoot as 60p (59.98) and not 24p, which adds in duplication frames you need some heavy work done on that clip to make it look okay. Shake, Magic Bullet Frames are some things that I have used in the past. This is a slow process. The video gets every other frame is dropped and then some frames blended together. This blending is the trick. You can do it in Compressor, Motion or AfterEffects, but plugins that are designed to do this will give you a cleaner look, but you have to understand there will be blended frames so it will never be as good as true 24p footage.
