capturing SD from HD P2 footage
Is there any way to capture HD footage from a P2 card as SD? When I try it only captures the clips in Full HD with apple pro res codec.
I master to DVD so I’d rather capture in SD to save space on my drives and to make rendering easier.
I would like to have the footage in HD so shooting in SD isn’t an option. Thanks

You would need extra equipment, a video capture card (black Magic, AJA or matrox) and you log and capture. You don’t say what camera you are using so help will be generic.
The other way is to downconvert he all the clips in Compressor and edit these. But Log and Transfer will not downconvert on ingesting.
