You define a subclip so you would have to add in the handles before you make the subclip, or disconnect the subclip boundaries when you want to do a transition.

Only the FILMFPS and SHUTEFX files have different framerates. Your Record Setup needs to be set to 720p for these to be active.

Are you sure, if so that is totally wrong. It needs to be 720×480. Sounds like this is a 16:9 image and you ripped it to work as a square pixel 720. This needs to be re-ripped.

Very well can be, if your padding adds an odd line you will get a field order problem which is what you most likely have.

That is wrong, you don’t want this being saved as an H264 move and you don’t want it to be square pixel.

Get Mpeg StreamClip (it is free) to rip the movie from the DVD. Set to export a QuickTime and I suggest using ProRes, 720×480 keep the video lower field.

Is the video really 2-1/2 hours long, that is really highly compressed and this video is going through a lot so you want as high of a bit rate as you can get.

Also you have mismatch – SDHC cards but CF reader, which does the 7D use? I think it used CF cards so your cards are wrong.

This is probably not going to be as fast as you want but…

Select all but the first clip, type “+5.” return, they are all moved 5 seconds, deselect the lead clip and repeat. This should take a couple of minutes to do.

That is because the home page is for info that is NEW, AJA for the longest time was only for FCP with the Mac boards, same as the others, now they work well with CS5 and Avid, and they are the hot news right now. But look at AJA’s Ki Pro and the Io HD, what is the codec they are built around… yes FCP’s ProRes. That is saying a lot.

the Next release of FCP will rock, it will be 64-bit, it will unlock multi-processors in FCP, take advantage of the graphic cards similar to Adobe’s mercury engine.

This business has apps leap-frogging one another, at this time Adobe and Avid are in the lead, that’s all fine and good. Next release FCP will probably take back the lead. This is a good thing for all of us. I have never understood why FCP people get pissed at Premiere doing something better. If it does and you need it use it, or wait and FCP will do it within the next release. We all win in the game as long as we stay away from pissing contest.

There is no way FCP Express is something that Apple cares too much about and I would bet it sells more FCS over Expresses. There is no need to dumb done pro apps, and I don’t see apple doing that. FCS sells systems (as well as their other pro apps) Express doesn’t, express is an add on sale to a system. A system is a need add on to a new release of FCP, not in every case but in a lot of cases.

First why wouldn’t you be able to get the 1:45 to fit on a DVD-5

A DVD-9 is cheaper to replicate then (2) DVD-5s but it is more expensive to duplicate.

When you are replicating there is no disadvantage to a DVD-9 over a DVD-5 as long as it has been authored correctly with a valid layer break.

I don’t understand why people fool with services like you send it, Me.com for exchanging files between yourself and clients.

A true ftp server is so much faster to upload and download. I paid about $160 for my hosting service and it has unlimited storage.
